    Reading by starlight...

For every being, a wheel of destiny is running

Already paved path for someone is waiting

Walking along a wide road I have seen

The Scent of Silence Winner Banner

And only the fated person had to be

The destiny in books is already written

The clock ticks as time is nearly approaching

Yet fate has its own say

The already written has been distorted

The clear waters now have been unclear

The wide roads I’ve seen now became a narrow plank on murky waters

A future as bleak as the looming dark clouds

A fog covering everything as far as the eyes can see

What ahead holds is a mystery

Treading on the plank with unknown fate, I looked back

    Gone was the radiant scenery

The spirited one now slowly drifting away

With the heaven above and the earth below

    Where should I be

Days on end, trying to act nonchalant

With every smile, cracks formed deep within

With every careless laughter, whip lashes like pain filled the entire skin

This mask, for how long must it be

    Scorned by many

    Detested by all

    The perfectly paved path

Why replace with a future of uncertainty

In this plain scenery that I try to get use to see

As dark and horrendous they made it out to be

This was the path paved by me willingly

Yet ahead, a presence abruptly made an entrance

Confused, I stared straight at you

Spotless, a pristine and untainted being

A person with a wide paved path as mine

    You slowly moved forward

Every step as light as a butterfly’s wings

    Amidst the pallid scenery

You attracted all my wandering attention

    Recalling the past

    Two children with opposite personalities

Like water and oil, was destined to never blend

A fate graced by the heavens

A being destined to shine like stars

    A person with boundless opportunities

Standing before me, I tried to look at you beyond the thick veil of obliquity

The rigid and upright back in my memory

The steadfast and swift actions in mind that’s flowing like mists in the mountains gradually

    How could I forget

You were everything that I should have been

    Blame the world, I can

Cut off the voices, I will

But you…before me, wore an expression of great sorriness

Is it for the things I did?

Is it for the decisions I’ve made?

Or is it because the world viewed it as an act of rebelling and out of what it should be?

Facing the heavens at this moment

Heavy clouds started to cover the bright sun

Obstructing, compelling to cease its light and engulf the earth in misery

    Then it started raining

Shrouded by the pitter patter of rain

Drenched in this cold piercing water

You suddenly extended your hand to me

    Wide paved road, narrow plank,

Boundless future, fate shrouded in darkness

    Unjust? Biased? Cruel?

Others may see it as a great downfall, one with no redemption

Yet it was what fate wants me to be

Future obscured with thick fog of desolation

A person walking the single crooked path in darkness

It was overwhelming, frightening, and dreadful even

I could describe it in many words

But if you are still willing to hold my hand to the very end

Cross this unknown till I see what’s beyond

It didn’t matter if thorns tore my flesh

    Swords pierce my body

And the world turn its back against me

Your hand that clutched mine tightly

Your back, straight and rigid, shielding me from the horrid of the world securely

    I can face it all

Face it with you by my side

    Face the bounded unknown future

Till we see the light at the end again.
