    Reading by starlight...

In the past, it all began

The us, the story, our unforgotten melody

    It was summer

    The Most Wanted Banner 2

Under the big oak tree, we met unexpectedly

Never planned yet was destined unknowingly

Two kids, two gazes, two hearts

    One careless, the other uptight

    One smiling, the other scowling

    I remembered you clearly

Clutching at a smooth, black, wooden bamboo flute tightly

Standing stiffly, I offered you a space to sit beside me

Reluctancy, hesitation showed in your face immediately

Yet you came to me slowly

    Step by step, unhurriedly

    Thud….thud…

Until you’re in front of me

    It was summer time

Under the shade of the big oak tree, two kids met

    No one knew, nobody anticipated

Yet, it was where our beautiful melody came to be

At present, it’s been 10 years already

So long that I could only recall your face vaguely

Memories from the past, the forgotten and not

Yet your melody stayed with me clearly

    Spring is fast approaching

    Birds chirping, flowers blooming

New season also brought unforeseen changes

Walking along the path of my past

I arrived at the place of my memory

The big oak tree standing proud and tall, overseeing the vast field freely

Yet, the one I longed still is nowhere incessantly

Waiting to hear from you again, I came

Every season, every month, every year

Though futile as it may seem, still my hope is unyielding

    Standing at the very spot

The feeling of deja vu came

    The longingness never dissipating

    Wishing, hoping

Suddenly, along with the gentle breeze, came a whistling flute melody

The familiar tune, the familiar sound drifts into the air carelessly

Looking around, I found you standing

The same flute, the same face yet smiling

    Dumbfounded, astonished, I can’t believe

Your abrupt presence left me hanging

    You walked to me

    Step by step…unhurriedly

    Thud….thud…

Now you’re finally in front of me

    Two persons meeting again

Still under the big oak tree

No one knew when, yet both anticipated

Their shared melody, the string of destiny

    Both made them collide wondrously

The melody that started it all, the unfinished story that they wrote, will continue to be with them till eternity.

    The End….
